I feel like I only give this series a 5 star rating, and I swear to you that is not my norm, but this series is AMAZING! I love the characters, who you can totally relate to despite their supernatural abilities. They are all people I would hang out with and I have come to love them

Ok on to the book, Amethyst is running from her past, her ex committed suicide aand she thinks its her fault, she was sent to the Silver Council and put through the Abyss! She needs a fresh start and her BFF Fallon told her to come to Edenton. Well of course her first impression of this town was not good after Simons manhandled her in a routine stop, but she did get to meet the sexy Sheriff Hayden (who is one of my favorite characters), and now she cannot stop thinking about him.

With all the craziness going on in town lately, and normal, nice people doing things they would not normally do, Preston (who I also LOVE) comes to town to just complicate Ame's feelings even more. The Shadow Fae are trying to take over and no one knows why, but they are pretty sure there is a connection between them, Ame, and her ex.

This is another action packed, love story with hot, steamy love scenes, I honestly could not put it down, and cannot wait for the next book, Thanks Brandy I am hooked!(less)

Another awesomely wonderful story by Brandy L. Rivers. This series just gets better and better.
I loved Amethyst and Hayden's story. Whew what a ride.
Action, suspense, drama, hot love scenes, twists and turns that I did not see coming. I laughed, I cried (boy did I cry), I yelled. I started reading this morning and didn't stop until the end. My heart broke for Preston, Tom, Darla, and Jamie. Seriously hope to see some happiness for these characters soon.
Well I am off to the next in this awesome series. Let's see what is in store for Robert, Liz, and Tremaine.
I have been a huge fan of Brandy since her first book, and I have to say she does not disappoint on Shadows of the Past.

Amethyst is a nymph trying to escape from her past. After an incident turned deadly with her ex, she is ready to start fresh in Edenton. With help from her best friend Fallon, she settles down and takes up a job where Fallon works as a tattoo artist.

Hayden is an alpha through and through, but he has a problem. He is way to busy to have a woman in his life, until Amethyst pops into his life. Little did he know that the sexy nymph was going to change his life for the better. But problem after problem shows up, trying to keep them apart. Will he be able to claim her heart, as well as her body?

Preston is the big brother that Amethyst never had. Or he is supposed to be. For as long as he can remember, she has just been the little sister that he needed to protect, until something happened and he starts to see her as something more. Is it possible that the little girl he turned away, has become the woman that he wants to claim as his?

Something has come creeping into Edenton, and he doesn't care who he has to kill to get to Amethyst. He wants to break free from his shadow form, and she was going to help him whether she wanted to or not.

Can Hayden and Preston protect Amethyst from the Hell that is coming for her, or is she going to be the one to save everyone. She is no damsel in distress, and the shadow has made a huge miscalculation. She has everything to live for now.
I really enjoyed reading this book. This is Amethyst's story, a nymph. She moves to Edenton because of what she had to do to get her ex to stop stalking and harassing her. There is a novella that explains all of what happened with Carl, the warlock. This book is a continuation of that novella. Preston has always been in Amethyst's life. Heck, he even changed her diapers as a baby. She has loved him for a long time, he has always denied it. Enter Hayden, sheriff eyeballs, an Earth Fae. Where will the love story go? Who will mate with who? Amethyst and Preston or Amethyst and Hayden? What will happen when the darkness and shadows come back, will Amethyst and the Others be able to stop it, or will it win? I will be starting on the next book right now.
While I was excited to finally see the grumpy sheriff of Edenton get his own story, and HEA, the story of Amethyst and Hayden was not the most intriguing part of this book for me. I was sucked in to the stories, and possibilities, of all the background characters. Preston, who we get to see in a different light; Jamie, who is still a bit of a mystery; Dacia, who I seriously hope gets her own book (rather than a funeral); and even Edenton's resident Nephilim, whose superpower is an uncanny ability to show up at the most embarrassing (or naughty) part of any conversation.

So much happened in this book to set up the stories of many more of the residents of Edenton, as well as setting up the future for some that we already know and love.

Ms. Rivers has built a fabulous world in this series and I cannot wait to find out what happens next!

Carl had other plans and being a warlock and part shadow fae, he called the most evil shadow fae to the earth realm. Amethyst does piercings, so she had a job and apt when she got to Edenton. After being caught speeding she was hauled to the police dept. Hayden could only stare. He was drawn to her. She was still skittish about men but was drawn to him. with the shadow fae in town snatching bodies and stirring up drama. Hayden and Amethyst didn't have a lot of time together. Still their attraction grew. When they realized the shadow fae was after Amethyst because of some legend, everyone came to agreement to stop him. Amethyst had always been unsure of her powers because she was raised human. With the help of Hayden, her love and her friends, she was able to send shadow fae to the abyss and seal it. This is a great book it picked right up where the prequel left off. The characters being introduced are fantastic. The storyline is AwEsOmE. I want more off to read the next sequel in line
