Premature Evacuation A New Adult College Romance Campus Crushes Book 1 eBook Rachel Shane

When good girl Mackenzie Shaffer ends her 3-yr high school relationship, she returns to Throckmorton University for her sophomore year with a fool proof strategy: don’t get into another relationship. Embracing her new found freedom, she trades Sprite for liquor, ditches the 3D animation computer lab for fun parties, and dives headfirst into a fling with Corey Taft. Soon their tryst spins through campus, leaving a tornado of casualties in its wake that jeopardizes her sorority’s standing and evicts him from his housing. But Corey shoulders the blame for their mistakes, branding him as Public Enemy #1 on campus and rocketing him to the top of the Academic Probation list. To save him from expulsion, Mackenzie must find a way to right her wrongs, earn the forgiveness of her friends, and restore Corey's reputation. All while trying not to fall for him.

I would totally put this story int the New Adult category (it's not YA, and I thought it was). But aside from that ... it totally rocked my world. LOVED it!! We get a glimpse at Mac and her straight-laced life and watch her go into a fast downward spiral, taking her friends and boyfriend with her. Binge drinking, partying and relationships all are hot topics for her. Whether she realizes it or not, her life is out of control when Corey gets arrested, she gets kicked out of her sorority house, and then a frat house is taken down. Then we watch as she learns from her mistakes and puts her life back on track. Is it all sunshine and rainbows? No, but that's life and we see Mac live with her (poor) choices.

Premature Evacuation A New Adult College Romance Campus Crushes Book 1 eBook Rachel Shane Reviews

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.

I enjoyed reading this book very much. The story was interesting and the writing was good. It can be read as a stand-alone book & the author did a great job of making sure everything was explained. I would recommend this to my book friends.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book started kind of slow for me but once I was able to get into it, I was unable to put it down. Mackenzie spent her freshman year of college avoiding parties and fun because of her boyfriend. Once he breaks up with her she returns to school determined to catch up on what she missed out on. Once she meets Corey, things start to spiral out of control. Mackenzie and Corey have their share of ups and down and breakups, however in the end they are able to find the perfect balance. This book is a story about finding oneself without losing oneself in the process. As the characters discover, the easy answer is not always the right answer.
I love to read cookbooks and get new ideas, Fun read.
This story was hauntingly beautiful. With Mackenzie trying to find the balance in life, the stumbling felt so real. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am glad I bought it.
Mackenzie is determined to make her sophomore year more of a success than her freshman year. Last year, she’d hid in her room, avoiding her sorority sisters and chaining herself to a long distance boyfriend who ended up dumping her anyway. This year, she meets sweet, gorgeous Corey and starts spending lots of time with her sorority- and lots of time drinking. Mackenzie quickly learns that this new self isn’t quite the answer either, and that sometimes making the right decision isn’t the easy choice…

Premature Evacuation is a story that anyone who ever went to college can absolutely relate to.
Really fun, cute story. Lovable characters. What I find most interesting is how true the story rings to reality. How sometimes people change who they are after losing something dear to them, or wanting to change because they don't want to be a certain way anymore. And then seeking redemption. Truly spot on.

I enjoyed this story. It actually dealt with some deeper issues than I initially thought it might. College life depicted reasonably but the two main characters seemed somewhat more mature than many at their age. Would have been nice to go into the issues a bit deeper and see why they did the things they did but it was nice seeing the realization of their issues and work towards a better understanding. I look forward to reading the next in the series.
