Keri Arthur has done it again! It never ceases to amaze me how much she can do with her words. With her hands she fashions these characters, living remarkable lives with supernatural elements who still seem relatable and humanly flawed. Her plots are out of this world and the one for the book is as usual incredibly unconventional and intricate. But she's never repetitive. If you've ever read a book by Keri Arthur and loved it, read everything she's written. Not only will you not be disappointed but you won't be bored or feel as if you're reading the same thing over and over. If you're a fan of the supernatural, every book Keri Arthur has written is a must have.I give my rating based on plot, character development, how much emotion a book brings from you do you laugh/cry/love/mourn all of the above, and grammatical accuracy. Also, do I think the title worth buying, would I buy it again, and best of all will I read it again in the future a and this passes with flying colors on all accounts.

Destiny Kills Myth and Magic Keri Arthur 9780553589603 Books Reviews
Destiny wakes up on a beach with a known male, although he is dead. She doesn't know her name or how she got there.
I admit the opening of the story was a little slow, though mostly i just wanted to know what was happening. All information was layed out though through the chapters. This was the first novel i've ever read about dragons. Sea dragons and air dragons. I thought it was interesting and different. Destiny is a sea dragon that just escaped a research facility doing expirements on her mother, 7 children, the dead air dragon and herself. With the help of Trae, an air dragon, she escapes the clutches of the hunters several times on thier pursute of the truth and opening to the research facility in order to release the dragons. Trae and destiny have unique talents/magic that make the book fun. Their growing relationship and Destiny's memory returning was a good combination. Destiny relives her tsorture and experiences new grief. I enjoyed the book and would definately read the next which involves Trae's sister Mercy.
I love Keri Arthur, I have read and loved every book in her Riley Jenson series and Dark Angels series. So I picked up this book without even knowing anything about it and I am so so glad I did. If I researched what this book was about, I am just not sure I would have even tried it. I mean sea creatures and the loch ness don't exactly seem like my cup of tea.. Well I would have been wrong and totally missed out on an awesome book!
I seriously devoured this book. I just couldn't put it down. There is so much mystery going on especially as it starts off on a beach with the main girl not even knowing who or what she is or how she got there. Then in walks or should I say in drives a man who almost ran her over on the side of the road who knows who she is. They both start off not trusting one another but the chemistry is so there!
Destiny has a lot of promises to keep. She was kidnapped in a secret lab for 11 years before she escaped but she left behind her mom and a few small children that were also kidnapped who she needs to get back to free. She also has to hurry and find her dad before he dies alone. Her plate is full and the action and suspense is with us the whole time.
Then there is Trae and oh we all like Trae. He is kinda that bad boy who is falling in love. He is a thief and he is willing to help Destiny for a price. The heat with these two is so on! I loved it.
I loved this book. If you love paranormal romance and want some kind of new supernatural then look no further! Destiny Kills is an awesome read and I am sure you will love it!

Okay, so after reading (and obsessing) over the Riley Jensen series, I basically had to get my hands on every Keri Arthur book available.
Unfortunately, this first book in the Myth and Magic series really fell short for me. The romance felt contrived, the action was "meh", the world and creatures were hardly explored, and most of all, there was a huge disconnect between the reader and characters.
My first red flag occurred after Destiny's memory returned. Her memory being gone wasn't a big deal and the return of it wasn't really that important either. Which seems odd really. After it returns, Des has a minor moment where she thinks it may have been better to never remember her past, but by the time that thought is made clear she seems over it and moving on to manipulating and out-thinking Trae. This left me not really caring about what her past held. If it's not important to her, it's not important to me.
Next, the romance between Des and Trae was anything but organic. Des was fighting the romance half heartedly, which was exhausting to read, while Trae had one foot out the door from day one. We didn't really even get to know Trae apart from his "sexy smile" and "how pretty those eyes were." *sigh* I mean I love a guy with pretty teeth and fierce eyes but really? That's it? *pout*
Ultimately, no matter how hard I tried, I had zero connection to both Destiny and Trae. Even the minor sex scene's were a bit snoozey (although they did get a bit better with time). Maybe Trae wasn't alpha/tortured/sexy/commanding enough for me? Or there wasn't enough honest sexual tension between Des and Trae? Could even be the missing character development mixed with unexplored history and a lack of clarity. Or a bit of everything.
Moving on to why this book has stars at all
I did enjoy premise behind air- and sea-dragons, their history, their differences - I just truly hope this is explored much more vividly in the next book in the series.
I also enjoyed the crazy scientists, Loch elements, and the potential forward movement for the series.
And above all else, there were a few scenes when I caught a glimpse of the Keri Arthur I've grown to love.
I'm honestly hoping Destiny Kills was just a fluke and that Mercy Burns will restore my faith in this series as well as Ms. Arthur's writing prowess. Here's to hoping!
